Electronics Projects: Guitar Effects Pedals and audio projects?

I am a student of physics and electronics to find very interesting. I learned about the allocation of different bits and electrical parts. Anyway, I want to start learning the concepts behind real understanding, the effects of Building design and pedals (Wah Wah, distortion and overdrive units, filters, phasers, delays Audio and other similar projects). I even started to take a course in electrical engineering from MIT in my spare time … Where are the best sources of information I need or find interesting? What websites and books they can recommend or even if you have any snippets of information I find useful, please post.
